El-Erian to become president of Queens’ College Cambridge

Mohamed El-Erian, chief economic adviser at Allianz and a former investment chief of bond giant Pimco, has been named as the next president of Cambridge university’s Queens’ College.

Mr El-Erian is a closely-followed economics commentator and contributes regularly to media publications, including the Financial Times. He studied economics as an undergraduate at Queens’ in the late 1970s, and will return to the more than six century old college in October 2020 when he takes up his new position.
