US economy bounces back with 2.9% growth in Q3

The US economy grew at its quickest pace in two years in the third quarter, driven by an upturn in exports, according to official figures that paint a picture of improved growth going into November’s presidential election.

Real gross domestic product increased at a 2.9 per cent annual rate in the third quarter of 2016, up from 1.4 per cent in the second quarter, according to the US Department of Commerce.
