Spring Internship

The Bretton Woods Committee is a non-partisan network of prominent global citizens that works to demonstrate the value of international economic cooperation and to foster strong, effective Bretton Woods institutions as forces for global well-being.

The Committee seeks the help of an intern for the 2021 spring semester. The intern may work as few as 20 hours per week, though preference may be given to those able to work more hours. The internship term will commence early January and will conclude in April (dates are flexible, and preference will be given to those willing to stay through the summer). The internship pays a $500 stipend for each term completed successfully. Remote work accommodations will be made contingent on the status of COVID-19. Preference may be given to those in the Washington, DC area, though others are encouraged to apply.

The intern will help to support the Committee’s various activities, including programs, administration, communications, and policy work. Individuals who wish to gain a wide range of hands-on experience, learn about the workings of a small non-profit, and better understand the international economic and financial landscape are encouraged to apply.

Responsibilities may include:
•    Support Committee communication efforts by drafting daily social media content.
•    Contribute to Committee policy tracking and analysis by preparing a weekly policy and news briefing that is provided both in-writing and orally.
•    Assist in the execution of Committee events (all virtual, pending COVID-19 developments) by providing both operational and logistical support both in the lead up to events and day-of.
•    Complete regular administrative tasks, including data entry, preparing mailings, updating contact information, and editing documents.
•    Support the Committee's membership recruitment strategy by researching high-level leaders in the fields of international finance, trade, and development and by assisting with the membership invitation process.
•    Support the Committee’s yearly fundraising cycle by reviewing materials and documents and by assisting with the compilation and mailing of fundraising materials.
•    Support the Committee’s operational infrastructure by assisting in projects that increase operational efficiency regarding the Committee’s website, CRM database, and photo and video storage, and others as assigned.
•    Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:
The successful candidate will be an undergraduate, recent graduate, or graduate student in a field related to economics, finance, international development/affairs, political science, business administration/management, or a related field. Candidates must have:

•    Demonstrated excellence in oral and written communication skills in English.

The Committee is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization whose funding comes from individuals, companies and other organizations that support its mission and work. The Committee does not receive funding directly from the U.S. government or the Bretton Woods institutions.
