BWC DIALOGUES – FED Up: Does the First Republic Failure Tip the Scales for Tighter Banking Regulation?


"Waiting for the other shoe to drop." The tone of our second installment of the BWC Dialogues series was decidedly less optimistic than the first. Bank of America's Hayley Boesky noted generally low investor sentiment in the wake of the regional bank failures. The panelists did find hope in the overall frankness of the Fed report on the SVB failure and felt that there were many things that regulators, not policymakers, could do in order to prevent future failures.

William and Dante's conversation took the long view of US dollar competitiveness and talked about the trends of de-dollarization as well as the potentially harmful effects of sanctions and the US policy environment on overall US Dollar competitiveness.
