What will the new architecture of development financing look like? At the Devex Impact House: The Capital Summit, BWC Member Qahir Dhanani outlined the various changes underway in this sector. He highlighted the growing trend toward mobilizing private capital, which marks a shift away from traditional official development assistance (ODA). With this in mind, he stressed the need to decentralize decision-making regarding development projects in order to mobilize local sources of capital. He also emphasized that multilateralism and international cooperation will soon need to rely on a multitude of initiatives rather than a single initiative resulting from a monolithic consensus.
