Exploring Innovations in Central Banking with Federal Reserve Bank of New York Session 1

In partnership, the Bretton Woods Committee (BWC) and the Federal Reserve Bank of New York (New York Fed) convened a half-day conference to explore how ongoing innovation in financial markets is changing the environment in which central banks operate and how central banks can innovate through novel policy approaches and operational frameworks.

The first panel called for a broader set of tools for central bankers dealing with novel challenges. The panelists noted that there are a host of new threats to long term resilience all of which will require novel ideas and perhaps novel intervention from central bankers globally.
