Departing World Bank Chief Economist Indermit Gill joined OMFIF Chairman David Marsh and Vice Chair Udaibir Das, a BWC Member, to discuss the hurdles facing the global economy. Gill highlighted the risks posed by rising debt burdens and trade policy uncertainty. He also argued that climate resilience should be the priority for most developing economies and discussed AI’s potential to support long-term growth. Throughout the discussion, Gill emphasized that sound macroeconomic policies, openness, and investment remain essential to achieving sustainable economic development.
