In a recent article from the Council on Foreign Relations, BWC Member Heidi Crebo-Rediker discusses the potential outcomes of the upcoming G7 Summit. According to her, the role of French President Macron is expected to be more about managing the Summit itself rather than advocating for France’s personal ambition. She shares that President Macron believes “advanced economies should continue to work together to reduce instability and build more resilient forms of international cooperation.” However, she expects the war in Iran and President Trump’s America-First economic agenda to dominate the Summit’s conversations. According to her, the most important outcome of the G7 Summit will be collaboration among the diverging countries involved.
