William Mason is Director General of the Guernsey Financial Services Commission, overseeing the regulation of Guernsey’s internationally recognised financial services sector. He has championed innovation through initiatives focused on digital finance, sustainable finance and regulatory and supervisory technology. Prior to joining the GFSC, William worked in multiple roles at the FSA before and during the Global Financial Crisis, before moving to lead Risk at the Central Bank of Ireland and developing the PRISM system.

William has also led working groups/committees within the International Association of Insurance Supervisors (IAIS), contributing to international regulatory policy, standards development and cross-border cooperation.
