Jiri Jonas has 40 years of experience in economic policy, country operations, and analytical work across academia, government, and the International Monetary Fund (IMF). He spent 13 years as Senior Advisor to the Executive Director for the Belgian Constituency and 20 years as Senior Economist across several IMF departments.

His expertise includes monetary policy frameworks, inflation targeting, fiscal policy and fiscal rules, and the international monetary and financial system. He holds a postgraduate degree from the Prague School of Economics and has studied at the London School of Economics.
