Today we welcome new member Victor Ojeah to BWC!
Victor Ojeah is a dual-qualified lawyer (U.S. and Nigeria) with expertise in sovereign finance, debt restructuring, and the legal frameworks that shape public financial governance in frontier markets. He currently serves as Legal Counsel at the African Legal Support Facility (ALSF), where he provides transactional and strategic legal advisory to African governments on sovereign debt negotiations, liability management operations, and creditor coordination.
He holds a Master of Laws from Harvard Law School, where his research focused on the evolving legal architecture of sovereign debt restructuring, with particular attention to the post-COVID fiscal landscape and global creditor dynamics. Prior to joining the ALSF, he practiced in the finance and capital markets group of leading commercial law firms in Nigeria and the United Kingdom.
He speaks and writes on issues at the intersection of international law, fiscal resilience, and global financial policy, and is passionate about supporting countries in designing legally sound, forward-looking debt and public finance strategies.
We appreciate his support for our work and mission, and we look forward to his engagement!
