Today we welcome new member Max Le Merle to BWC!

Max Le Merle is an Investment Director at Better Society Capital, the UK’s leading social impact investor. Before joining Better Society Capital, Max was a technical staff member at the International Sustainability Standards Board (ISSB) where he was a contributing author to the inaugural global sustainability standards IFRS S1 and S2, and led research on Nature-related standards. Prior to his time at ISSB, Max worked as an investment professional on Oaktree Capital’s Special Situations Group and at BlackRock supporting the launch of their inaugural impact funds.

Max holds an MBA (Distinction, Dean’s List) from Oxford University and dual BSc degrees in Mathematics and Computer Science from Trinity College. Max served as an elected city official in Los Angeles, serves on the Board of Directors of Hands of Hope Africa, and has held advisory and volunteer leadership roles at charities and social enterprises including WE San Francisco, KIPP SoCal Public Schools, Downtown Women’s Center, and Young President’s Organization.
