“Yet just as important as these security considerations is the administration’s rejection of the treaties, organizations, and economic institutions that the United States has done so much to shape,” writes BWC Member Ngaire Woods in Foreign Affairs. As the U.S. retreats from its traditional leadership role in the international system, its allies and other international financial institutions have had to reevaluate their reliance on American support.
