Following the recent Fitch downgrade of Afrexim Bank, BWC Member Victor Ojeah discusses the ongoing debates surrounding its Preferred Creditor Status in a new paper. His research examines the international, legal, and politico-economic dimensions of the claim by African multilateral financial institutions to be recognized as preferred creditors, alongside institutions like the IMF, World Bank, and AfDB.
