The Bretton Woods Committee’s Sovereign Debt work makes actionable recommendations that are aimed at strengthening the global debt architecture. To balance the needs of both debtors and creditors, the sovereign debt reports—targeted at international financial institutions (IFIs), policy makers, and other market participants—focus on promoting equitable debt restructuring, enhancing transparency and information sharing, and encouraging private sector participation in debt treatments.
