In a new article for the IMF’s Finance and Development Magazine, BWC Advisory Council Member Minouche Shafik co-writes with Masood Ahmed making the case for health taxes. With questions regarding how to finance development taking center stage during the IMF and World Bank Spring Meetings, Shafik and Ahmed explain that higher taxes on tobacco, alcohol, and sugar-sweetened drinks can raise vital funds for development.
