2016 Annual Meeting: The Spirit of Bretton Woods: Multilateral Leadership in Turbulent Times


On June 27, 2016, over 130 Committee members and friends – including leaders from both public and private sectors as well as civil society – gathered at the International Monetary Fund headquarters in Washington, D.C. for the 2016 Bretton Woods Committee Annual Meeting. This year’s program theme – “The Spirit of Bretton Woods: Multilateral Leadership in Turbulent Times”– focused on the new and evolving set of global economic challenges and the critical role of multilateral and U.S. leadership in managing risks and capitalizing on opportunities.

Bretton Woods Committee Members Play Advisory Role in IMF Exceptional Access Lending Framework Reforms


On January 20th, 2016, the IMF Executive Board approved reforms to the IMF’s exceptional access lending framework as part of a multi-year work program in which the IMF staff is reassessing its lending practices around sovereign debt.
